Hello everyone and welcome to another post!

I started this blog with the long term goal of making money in mind because I eventually wanted to be a stay at home wife and mother.

My husband was kind enough to let me take a year off to recuperate from the stress I had from graduating college, planning a wedding, getting married, relocating to Montana, and figuring out how to be a modern housewife.

I thought if I was consistent, had a positive business mindset, and wrote a lot of posts I would be making a lot of money in no time.

But the reality that people rarely talk about is that it’s hard to be an Internet entrepreneur in such a saturated environment. There are so many bloggers trying to build their businesses by having a different and unique niche and by having millions of readers, and there is a ton of competition between us to get one person to spend 10 minutes reading your blog instead of someone else’s.

My point is, I was blessed last year to be able to jump into blogging full time in the hopes that it would soon be profitable. And for the first year it wasn’t. I made a total of $0.31 with WordAd money, so now I have to job hunt and do actual adult things because the bills do need to be paid and I want to go on vacation every once in a while.

So this post is an announcement that instead of spending hours every day promoting my posts on social media, watching YouTube videos about how to blog and researching how to make money blogging because I wanted to turn my blog into a business; this year my blog will be a hobby.

I made the decision to switch my mindset from business blogging to hobby blogging because I think it will be exhausting to work full time, be a full time homemaker and wife, and be a full time blogger.

I obviously will continue to post when I find the time because I love to write and I love my blog, but it will not be every Thursday anymore and it will be completely sporadic and totally random.

Before I end this post, I just want to thank everyone! Anytime someone has commented something positive, liked any of my posts, read any of my posts or followed my blog it has been like getting 100 compliments in a row and you guys have made the start of my blogging journey so wonderful and so fulfilling.

So thanks for joining me today and I hope to hear from you on my next post!

    1. I know you can make money online, particularly is you have a social media presence, but since I literally started with 0 followers on every social media platform including my blog, it is taking me a while to gain my footing. I’m just hoping that in the end hard work really does pay off because I love my little blog and it would be so wonderful if it could be a supplemental income hobby blog. 😊

  1. I couldn’t agreed more with you, I started blogging last November, I am not sure if I am doing this right or wrong, but I have 2 full time jobs at this time and yes it is exhausting, but I have to say that I am blogging about something that I know and I am passionate about and that is pregnancy, babies, mommy life, so I doesn’t feel so hard on me, anyways I hope you come back soon, xoxo

  2. I completely agree. I’ve been working at my job for 20 years and I’ve only been blogging (seriously) for 2 years, and it’s hard. It’s a job in itself. The self-promoting, finding your niches, building your email list and followers, affiliates … I mean the whole sha-bang … and yes there is so much content and so many bloggers saying this is what you do … is it really? I think blogging as a hobby is less stressful, but you can’t deny the thought of actually making money from something that brings you joy.
