Hello everyone and welcome to another post!

I have exciting news!

We are trying to conceive!

If you are new to my little blog this might not sound like a super huge deal, but last May we found out we were expecting and then in August we experienced a loss.

If you want to know more about my journey through that pregnancy and loss you can check out my post about it here.

Anyway, we took a year off to get financially stable again and lose a little weight, and now we are ready to have a baby!

Since I have had a loss, I wanted to make sure everything was under control and all my ducks were in a row so I made an appointment to see the OB.

The conclusion: I’m healthy as a horse and I should have no problem getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and having a healthy pregnancy and baby.

I did have some questions and if you’re not into that sort of thing you can stop reading here but if you are, here they are:

  • Will my next pregnancy be high risk? No. Most losses happen in the first trimester and are a result of abnormal genetics, my last pregnancy was no exception. It also was my first loss and the risk of me having another won’t increase unless I have two or more losses in a row.
  • How long do I have to wait before I can start trying to conceive? I can start right now! I thought that after taking hormonal birth control I would have to wait a few months, but my OB said my natural cycle would be back in a month or two and we can start trying for baby #1 anytime we want.
  • Will I have to come in early for a HCG screening to make sure my next pregnancy is viable? No. My next pregnancy should progress completely normally.
  • What does a normal pregnancy look like in terms of medical care? With the OB I have chosen to go with, one appointment each month until 28 weeks. Then every two weeks until 34 weeks. Then every week until baby comes.
  • Can I do early genetic testing with my next pregnancy? Yes and it is encouraged.

So there you have it guys! Hopefully my next post in the baby # 1 series will be a pregnancy announcement.
