How do you make healthy lifestyle choices when each day offers new stressors? That’s a question many women are asking themselves these days as they navigate the daily grind of work, home responsibilities, and their own needs. It can be stressful to figure out a way to look and feel your best when you’re burnt out, but there are some simple things you can do that will help. Making changes to your home and work environments, committing to a healthier lifestyle, setting a few realistic goals, and finding support from others who are going through similar issues are all great ways to feel better and pull yourself out of a rut. You can find helpful resources for dealing with work, travel, and family at Laundry and Dishes. Here are a few ideas on how to deal with burnout and all that comes with it.

Change up your surroundings
Getting stuck in a cycle where you’re constantly performing the same tasks over and over can be exhausting, but changing up your environment can be extremely helpful. Cleaning and decluttering your home thoroughly, opening the windows to let in fresh air and natural light, and placing live houseplants around your home are all easy ways to make a big difference in your mood. You can do these things at work, as well; clean out your desk, get organized, add a few small plants, and gather healthy snacks to keep handy when you’re having a long, stressful day. You can even take your laptop outside and work in nature for a while on nice days; you might be surprised at what a difference it can make for your mental health.

Do your own thing
If your job is a major source of stress or feelings of burnout, consider changing up your environment in a major way by starting your own business. Becoming an entrepreneur can be a daunting task, but with the right resources, you can become your own boss and even work from home if you want. Start with a solid goal and business plan, do a little market research to make sure you can fit your product or service into the right niche, and consider forming a limited liability company in order to protect your assets and receive tax benefits. Every state has its own rules about formation, so check on the steps required in your area and utilize a formation service rather than a costly attorney to file LLC paperwork.

Expand your options
If you’re not ready to start your own business but are definitely in the market for more professional options, consider going back to school. This is a great way to boost your confidence and open yourself up to bigger and better opportunities, whether you want to start something of your own or apply for a promotion. Look for an MBA program that will teach you about leadership, management, and business strategy so you’ll be armed with everything you need to get ahead and open up a few doors for yourself.

Get fit
When you’re busy with work and family responsibilities, it can be challenging to focus on your physical and mental wellness, but it’s crucial to do so. The good news is, there are several things you can do to take control of your health that won’t interfere with your schedule, such as finding a simple but effective workout and taking advantage of meal prep recipes or delivery services that allow you to eat well no matter how busy your day is.

Making changes to your lifestyle can be tricky, but it’s not impossible. Set a few small goals to start with after thinking about what brings you the most stress, and look for support from your friends, family, coworkers, and online resources as you get started.
